ERIN CAFFEY TAKES MORE THAN HER SHARE OF THE BLAME
If someone told you to do something!
Would you do it irrespective of the consequences?
"If someone told you to jump in the lake would you do it"?
Our teacher at school used to say this to a kid when he or she used the
excuse, "But they told me to do it."
Erin Caffey (16) planned the murder of her parents in 2007 at Alba Texas.
Her two brothers Mathew and Tyler were murdered in the process along with her
Mum, Penny while her Dad, Terry survived with 11 gunshot wounds.
Erins, then boyfriend, Charlie Wilkinson (19) and an associate Charles Waid
(20) carried out the masscre while Waid's then girlfriend Bobbi Johnston (18)
and Erin waited in Johnstone's car.
Wilkinson, Waid, and Johnstone all told investigating officers that it was
all Erin's idea.
It appears that the investigating officer's never asked the trio who were
questioned independantly whether Erin's plan was all a bad idea. I think it
would have been interesting to hear how they would have responded to that.
I just wonder what percentage of the blame can you put on Erin for the
crime? There is no doubt that she is responsible for what occorred but not 100%
responsible as some may insinuate. For one she can only be responsible for her
part. The others are responsible for their own actions not Erin. The fact that
it was all Erin's idea and then blaming her for everything as everyone
including the media seemed to do sounds rather pathelic but then it sells
newspapers dosn't it.
The bottom line to all of this is that I believe that she copped more than
her share of punishment as far as the sentencing goes.
I just wonder what other people think of all of this. You can email me at
