FINDING A SCAPEGOAT

Finding a Scapegoat

You have heard the expression, "blaming the butler," well what this means is that when something has gone wrong there has always got to be a scapegoat. It lets other people off the hook and it is basically saying that "such and such wve happened if you had not done this or that or said such and such."

In 2007, 16-year-old  Erin Caffey was found guilty of the murder of her mother and two younger sibling brothers. she actually did not kill them. Her then boyfriend of the time who was aged 18 and his associate did the killing while Erin and the girlfriend of the associate waiting in the car.

It was all Erin's idea because her parents kept splitting up her relationships.

Erin's Dad survived the massacre with I believe 11 gunshot wounds and he was able to identify the perpetrators.

Unknown to him was that his own daughter Erin was behind the attack.

The four were being questioned individually and the three older ones all said that it was all Erin's idea. I don't know what the line of questioning was but it seems that one question was not asked which was "Did you not think that Erin's plan was all a bad idea"? I think a lot of people would have been interested in what they had to say about that.

My view of all this is that Erin should not have been responsible for the actions of the two guys who did the killing, especially since in the eyes of the law she was still a minor.

I am not suggesting that Erin was not responsible because she was only 16 but rather she or the other young lady involved should not have been made responsible for the actions of their boyfriends.

What do other people think? Do a good search or watch a video on You tube on Erin Caffey. The one which Pierre Morgan did was very good and balanced. The presenter treated Erin with respect. It was this program which I watched which firstly allerted me to Erin's situation.

The incident took place at Alba, Texas in 2007. The four involved in this crime are all held at various units at a Gatesville prison.
